Know What Matters...Family

Here is a sneak peak of the newest kit from My Kit & Pieces .com kit club.  If any of you that are addicted to scrapbooking and all of the beautiful supplies you should look into a kit club like this one.  It is great to get a collection of supplies every month that you can work with right away.  Everything coordinates, all you need to do is add your photos.  Kind of like just add water scrapbooking.  Their online gallery has all of their designers (of which I am one of them) with their take on these kits.  So if you are a bit challenged by a blank page this is a great place to find inspiration.  Another unique thing that this kit club offers is extension or options to your kit.  You can add buttons, brads, ribbon anything you especially like working with but wished you had more of…  I also need to mention the prices.  The base kit is amazingly priced being that you have the option to add more if you need to… or not.  I love that you have so many options!!!   I made this mini book this month (along with some other goodies) but wanted to share an idea with you all.  Next time you go to make a mini book try to journal more than normal.  Maybe even try to journal more than you use photos.  In this book I wrote about things that matter to me and I want my kids to know...  Not that they will feel the same way as me but at least they will know.

Barefoot and Pregnant

 

15 weeks along now and growing everyday.  I have officially joined the big belly club!  We are in hopes to find out what we are expecting either tomorrow or next month.  With the boys we knew we were having boys, but with Ella I wanted to be surprised and Jerry did not so he found out and I did not.  I never asked him and he did not slip up one bit.  She was a total surprise!  I LOVED not knowing.  But with this one the kids are DYING to know and Jerry also.  I am warming up to the idea.  It will be easier when I know…  Since this is probably our last one.  It would be fun to be surprised again…  We will see how tomorrow’s appointment goes, maybe we will have to wait another month.

***Update***  Little baby Duffner is looking good at today’s appt.  Heart looks and sounds great!  But his or her legs were crossed and we could NOT see anything.  I have another appt. in 2 weeks so we will see then...

Bedroom Help... Well Not That Kind Of Help

   I recently got a question regarding a bedroom of a good friend JoAnne.  She has a canopy now, loves nature, juat an all around loving girl.  She is lucky enough to not have to share a bedroom (I went from a house of growing up with 7 brothers and sisters to pretty much married… I have shared a room 90% of my life).  She loves Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters and Brocade Home.  I think that she should paint it Sherwin-Williams 6148 Wool Skein: one of my favorite putty colored neutrals.  A bit gray and a bit beige. I found a few things this morning that I think would be a great start to a feminine retreat that she will love to come home to.  A mix of nature, recycling and a feeling of home for her.  Thanks JoAnne for writing and I can’t wait to see what you think…

 

Don't Kill The Kids...

 

I found these fill in sheets at Paper Source (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that place) and made a funny yet practical clipboard for our brave babysitter!  It was super easy to make…  First paint the clipboard background for the edges.  One full 12x12 for each side of the clipboard cut to fit.  3” strips of patterned paper adhered to front and back as shown, one with torn edge.  Cut with circle punch 2 circles out of yet another patterned paper.  Stamp "Thank YOu" into grid paper cut into square.  Stamp flower on grid paper cut out with a button in the center.  Make sure to adhere button flower where you will not be inhibited to write by it!     Off to my next project…

Is There Fish In Here???

  Don’t tell my kids… but you need bait to fish.  Jerry and I both are not huge fans of fishing.  But the kids have these grand ideas that it is a great thing to do.  Last year for Christmas we gave them all fishing poles and told them we would go fishing… someday.  We have now taken them about 5 or 6 times and they have never figured out why we are not catching anything every time we go.  We put their plastic fish on the ends for weight and they cast their little hearts out.  And never catch anything.  They keep wanting to go more and more and I keep getting some great shots for the scrapbook.  This is a safe, clean and fun way to go fishing with little ones.  I hope they do not figure it out anytime soon.  I guess you can say this is a bit of a fish story...

This is a little late from last year but I saw one proud Mom post this on her blog (thanks Debbi) so I had to share... Here is little Ella and her best little buddy at the 2007 talent show.  My very talented girlfriend at Angel Baby Clothes made this gorgeous dress.  They did so well and boy did I cry seeing my little girl who has worked so hard become this singing little girl with so much growth.  Watch out talent show 2008, I have no idea of music as of yet.   But this proud Momma is sure of a hit.  If you have an idea please do share here…
